September 25, 2020

Have you ever wondered why choosing the Coliving model instead of other more traditional models?

Are you thinking about choosing Coliving but you have some doubts about the coexistence?

Do you know what you cannot miss before you stay in Barcelona ends?

All these questions and many more, are replied by one of our veteran Colivers: Ivonne Penadillo.

Five reasons to do coliving in Barcelona

  1. Life is always better with good friends; you would meet a lot of new people who you would share a big part of your new life with.
  2. Just like you would meet new people you would also meet new cultures, languages, music, slangs, food. Be open, listen, respect, and learn.
  3. You always have company, you would usually always find someone around to talk to, go out, watch tv or eat with.
  4. Save money, you could have the opportunity to share some expenses.
  5. Self-improvement, while coliving you would find pushing yourself to be cleaner, organized, less noisy, more patient and respectful to others.

How to do coliving peacefully?

  1. Set some basic rules, rules about the kitchen, dishes, trash, noise, and visits. It can save you from any kind of disagreements.
  2. Don´t do anything you would not like others to do. Simple. And treat others like you would like to be treated.
  3. Respect others' privacy and they would respect yours. Knock the doors and ask before using someone else's belongings.
  4. Understand we are all not the same, be open and learn the good things of others.
  5. Be patient and tolerant. Maybe keeping your toothbrush in your room would be a smart idea if one bathroom is full.
  6. Communicate, don´t be afraid of telling others if there is something you are not comfortable with. And truly listen to others too.
  7. Organize activities. The perfect way to break the ice and start knowing each other could be a movie night with popcorn, a nice dinner maybe from your country or a buffet of many others.

Twelve things you need to do before leaving Barcelona

  1. Go to the Bunkers, El turo de la Rovira, have the best view in the city. Go alone or with friends, take some wine, a book or music and enjoy the place. Go comfortable, it is not a high heels place. You would not regret it.
  2. Have a picnic on the Parc de la Ciutadella. Lay on the grass with some music looking to the clouds or with your friends. Bring some food and enjoy a sunny day.
  3. Sit on a bench on the parc in front of the Sagrada Familia. Enjoy the view of the heart of Barcelona, inhale, exhale and congratulate yourself for choosing this amazing city to live.
  4. Walk on the parc del Laberint d'Horta. Smell the flowers, enjoy the small things around you, and try to find your way out of the laberint.
  5. Walk footless on the Barceloneta beach and enjoy a sunset.
  6. Drink something in front of the Cathedral listening to the street artists.
  7. Always try a new bar/restaurant
